Animal Studies

Animals are challenging models. I prefer to draw from life, which has led me to study books of animal anatomy. I have found that it is necessary to understand the structure underneath the form in order to capture the correct proportions and gestures. I often sketch animals from life, and feel fortunate to live near the zoo and many farms. It is both challenging and exciting to work with creatures of all kinds.
